Shasti Conrad (she/her) is Chair of the Washington State Democrats and a Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee, working to build a stronger, more inclusive Democratic Party in Washington and across the country.
The first woman of color and youngest person to lead the Washington State Democrats, Shasti is also the first South Asian woman to chair a state party in the country and the first AAPI Chair in the contiguous 48 states. Adopted from Calcutta by a single mother and raised in rural Oregon, she brings a distinctly American story, and a deep belief that our democracy works best when everyone has a seat at the table.
Under her leadership, Washington Democrats delivered historic victories in 2024, winning every statewide office and every Congressional incumbent seat while expanding legislative majorities. Washington was the only state in the country to move further blue that year.
A longtime organizer, strategist, and political leader, Shasti has worked on four presidential campaigns, served in the Obama White House, and advised organizations across politics, philanthropy, and social impact. She is a sought-after speaker on democracy, women of color in politics, AAPI and immigrant experiences, and the next generation of changemakers.
